Lectures!

Tomorrow I will give my first lecture. It's going to be about vectors. There will be me, in front of a room full of something like 300 sceptical youngsters. Will I survive? I hope so. The main problem is that I have 8 lectures' worth of stuff to get through in 7 lectures. That's like an extra 5 or 10 minutes worth of stuff to cram in every time. I've prepared my notes now, but it looks like there's going to be way too much to cover. Eek.

Just talk really fast.

Also... just remember you know way more than they do.

If anyone gives you flak just kick them in the shin.... or at least make fun of them.

Good luck!

I was about to say talk really fast too, but david said that before me. You'll be fine!! Good luck!! Come to the fireworks at Hebden Bridge! We're all gonna be there (almost all of us...)

I didn't talk that fast. It's actually hard to go very fast because the boards are electrically powered: you can't move them manually. This means having to go and hold a switch every 30 seconds and then wait while the thing chugs upwards. There are quicker glaciers, I tell you.

I did hear a mobile go off at one point. I just frowned in the general direction. If it gets on my nerves later on then I'll take your advice, Neyir. They will learn to fear me.

Jenny, hope the fireworks were good!
